Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to Seat Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 298928  Size: SH
  3. Remove the recliner assembly. Refer to Front Seat Recliner Replacement .
  4. Remove the recliner assembly bucket.
  5. Remove the 60/40 seats.

  6. Object Number: 298931  Size: SH
  7. Remove the seat back pivot bolt.
  8. Remove the seat back from the lower frame.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 298931  Size: SH
  1. Install the seat back to the lower frame.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the seat back pivot bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  5. Install the recliner assembly. Refer to Front Seat Recliner Replacement .
  6. Install the seat to the vehicle. Refer to Seat Replacement .
