Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 382072  Size: SH

    Notice: Allowing the drive belt tensioner to snap into the free position may result in damage to the tensioner.

  1. From under the vehicle, install a 3/8 inch drive wrench on the drive belt tensioner arm.
  2. Rotate the arm counter clockwise.
  3. Remove the drive belt.
  4. Slowly release the tension.

Installation Procedure

  1. Route the drive belt over all the pulleys except the tensioner arm.

  2. Object Number: 198987  Size: SH
  3. Observe drive belt routing for vehicles without air conditioning.

  4. Object Number: 198992  Size: SH
  5. Observe drive belt routing for vehicles with air conditioning.

  6. Object Number: 382072  Size: SH
  7. From under the vehicle, install a 3/8 inch drive wrench on the drive belt tensioner arm and rotate the arm counterclockwise.
  8. Install the drive belt over the tensioner arm pulley.
  9. Slowly release the tension.
  10. Confirm that the drive belt is properly routed.

  11. Object Number: 172992  Size: SH
  12. Inspect for the drive belt being properly installed on the pulleys.
  13. Each groove on the drive belt rests inside a matching groove in the pulley.

  14. Object Number: 172993  Size: SH
  15. Avoid mis-positioning the belt by one or more grooves.
