Roof Panel Joint Finish Molding Replacement for Chevrolet S10 Pickup - 2WD 1999

Tools Required

J 25070 Heat Gun

1. Use the J 25070 in order to heat the molding and the surrounding sheet metal to 82-93°C (180-200°F).




Important: Do not scratch or chip the paint on the cab.

2. Remove the roof joint molding.

Use a flat-bladed tool in order to pry off the molding between the sealer and the joint. Use pliers or a similar tool in order to handle the hot molding and pull the molding loose. The molding and the sealer should come off in one piece.

3. Clean the joint in order to remove any remaining sealer. Sealer could interfere with the fit of the replacement molding.

1. Use the J 25070 in order to heat the cab in the joint area. Preheat the sheet metal to approximately 93°C (200°F).
2. Install the molding.

Preheat the sheet metal in order to melt the sealer and bond the molding into the joint. Sealer begins to flow at approximately 93°C (200°F).
