Vibration at Highway Speeds - S-10 Extreme - suspension wheel

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Vibration that can be felt in seat of pants or a body shake at highway speeds.

The S-10 Extreme models use Bilstein shocks in production. Since these shocks are stiffer, they are more prone to causing tire and wheel type vibrations. The vibration may be reduced by replacing the Bilstein shocks with the AC Delco shocks.

The AC Delco shocks are a softer shock and in some cases have proven to decrease the vibration. If the AC Delco shock is used on a customer vehicle to reduce vibration, the customer needs to understand that the vehicle will have a softer suspension with the AC Delco shocks, rather than the stiff sport suspension.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
