CATALYTIC CONVERTER ODOR (NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER P/N)

Model and Year: 1988-89 S/T TRUCKS WITH 2.8L (VIN CODE R) ENGINE

Chevrolet Dealer Service Bulletin 88-301-6E dated July, 1988, is being cancelled. This bulletin provides a new part number and includes 1989 model year vehicles. All copies of the July, 1988, issued bulletin should be discarded.

Some 1988 and early built 1989 S/T trucks with a 2.8L engine may exhibit a higher than normal catalytic converter odor during operation. This odor condition can be reduced by installing catalytic converter, P/N 25104271. This new converter with nickel will enter production in the near future. VIN breakpoints were not available at the time of publication.
