Battery Indicator Does Not Light

  1. Disconnect the generator connector.
  2. Move the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Connect a fused jumper from the RED (225) wire to ground.

Does the battery indicator light?

Backprobe the IP Cluster connector with a fused jumper from the RED (225) wire terminal A6 to ground.

Does the battery indicator light?

--

Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
  2. Measure the voltage between the instrument cluster connector DRN (340) wire terminal A10 to ground.

Is the voltage reading greater than the specified value?

12.0 V

Go to Step 6

Repair or replace the generator.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

Repair the open in the RED (225) wire between the instrument cluster and the generator.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the instrument cluster.

Repair the open in the ORN (340) wire between the IP fuse block and the instrument cluster.
