Rear License Plate Lamp Replacement With Step Bumper

Important: Ensure that the headlamp switch is OFF and that the ignition switch is in the LOCK position.

1. Release the lamp's retainer from the rear bumper by pulling the lamp up and tilting the bottom of the lamp away from the bumper.

Remove the lamp from the rear bumper by rotating it clockwise or counter-clockwise




2. Rotate the bulb socket ¼ turn counter-clockwise in order to remove the socket from the license plate lamp assembly.
3. Remove the bulb from the socket.
4. Remove the license plate lamp from the bumper.

1. Install the bulb to the socket.

Rotate the bulb ¼ turn to lock into place.




2. Install the lamp's retainer to the rear bumper by pushing the lamp up and in, then tilting the bottom of the lamp into the bumper.

Install the lamp to the rear bumper by rotating it clockwise or counter-clockwise.

Rear License Plate Lamp Replacement Without Step Bumper

Important: Ensure that the headlamp switch is OFF and that the ignition switch is in the LOCK position.




1. Remove the screws that retain the license plate lamp to the license plate bracket.
2. Remove the license plate lamp from the license plate bracket.
3. Rotate the bulb and socket ¼ turn counter-clockwise in order to remove the bulb and socket from the license plate lamp.
4. Remove the bulb from the socket.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
6. Remove the license plate lamp from the vehicle.

1. Install the license plate lamp to the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
3. Install the bulb to the socket.
4. Rotate the bulb and socket ¼ turn clockwise in order to install the bulb and socket from the license plate lamp.
5. Install the license plate lamp to the licence plate bracket.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

6. Install the screws that retain the license plate lamp to the license plate bracket.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

Rear License Plate Lamp Replacement Filler Panel

1. Ensure that the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
2. Ensure that the ignition switch is in the LOCK position.



3. Rotate the bulb and socket ¼ turn counter-clockwise in order to remove the bulb and socket from the vehicle.
4. Remove the bulb from the socket if being replaced.
5. Remove the lens retaining clip from the license plate lamp.
6. Remove the lens from the filler panel.

1. Install the lens to the filler panel.
2. Install the lens retaining clip to the license plate lamp.
3. Install the bulb to the socket.
4. Rotate the bulb and socket ¼ turn clockwise in order to install the bulb and socket to the license plate lamp.
