Inspect the following related BCM data parameters. Refer to Body Control Systems.

    • Courtesy lamp timer
    • Passenger door jamb/door handle switches
    • Driver door jamb switch
    • Rear door ajar
    • Liftglass/rear gate
    • Courtesy lamp relay
    • Inadvertent power relay
    • Dome override switch
    • Dome lamp switch

Did you locate and correct a problem?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System in Body Control System

Go to Step 4

Inspect the CTSY LP Fuse 8 in the IP fuse block.

Is the fuse good?

--

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 40 (ORN) and/or CKT 1732 (ORN).

Is the repair complete?

Go to Interior Lamps System Check

  1. Remove the left courtesy bulb.
  2. Using a test lamp, probe terminal A of CKT 40 (ORN) to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 8

Locate and repair an open in CKT 40 (ORN).

Is the repair complete?

Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) and a J 35616 , probe between the left courtesy lamp terminal B and terminal 5 of the courtesy lamp relay in the BBEC.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

1 ohms

Inspect CKT 156 (WHT) for an open.

Is the circuit open?

Repair the open in CKT 156 (WHT).

Is the repair complete?

Inspect the integrity of terminal D4 at the BBEC.

Is the connection OK?

  1. Reinstall the left courtesy bulb.
  2. Connect a fuse jumper between courtesy lamp relay terminal 5 and ground.

Do the courtesy lamps light?

Inspect for an open in CKT 1850 (BLK) to ground.

Is the circuit open?

Repair the open in CKT 1850 (BLK).

Inspect the terminal contacts at the BBEC terminal C8.

Is the terminal contact OK?

Test for continuity between the courtesy lamp relay terminal 3 and BBEC terminal C8.

Is continuity present?

  1. Connect a test lamp between courtesy lamp relay terminal 2 and B+.
  2. Open the driver's door.
  3. Cycle the dome override switch.

Does the test lamp light?

Disconnect BCM connector C1 and BCM connector C2.

Inspect terminal A3 of connector C2.
