•	Rear door ajar

•	Liftglass/rear gate

•	Courtesy lamp relay

•	Inadvertent power relay

•	Dome override switch

•	Dome lamp switch

Did you locate and correct a problem?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System in Body Control System

Go to Step 4

Inspect the CTSY LP Fuse 8 in the IP fuse block.

Is the fuse good?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 40 (ORN) and/or CKT 1732 (ORN).

Is the repair complete?

Go to Interior Lamps System Check

Remove the left courtesy bulb.
Using a test lamp, probe terminal A of CKT 40 (ORN) to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Locate and repair an open in CKT 40 (ORN).

Is the repair complete?

Go to Interior Lamps System Check

Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) and a J 35616 , probe between the left courtesy lamp terminal B and terminal 5 of the courtesy lamp relay in the BBEC.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

1 ohms

Go to Step 13

Inspect CKT 156 (WHT) for an open.

Is the circuit open?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 11

Repair the open in CKT 156 (WHT).

Is the repair complete?

Go to Interior Lamps System Check

Inspect the integrity of terminal D4 at the BBEC.

Is the connection OK?

Go to Step 27

Go to Step 12

Repair or clean the connection as necessary.

Is the repair complete?

Reinstall the left courtesy bulb.
Connect a fuse jumper between courtesy lamp relay terminal 5 and ground.

Do the courtesy lamps light?

Go to Step 18

Inspect for an open in CKT 1850 (BLK) to ground.

Is the circuit open?

Go to Step 15

Repair the open in CKT 1850 (BLK).

Is the repair complete?

Inspect the terminal contacts at the BBEC terminal C8.

Is the terminal contact OK?

Go to Step 17

Test for continuity between the courtesy lamp relay terminal 3 and BBEC terminal C8.

Is continuity present?

Connect a test lamp between courtesy lamp relay terminal 2 and B+.
Open the driver's door.
Cycle the dome override switch.

Does the test lamp light?

Replace the courtesy lamp relay.

Disconnect BCM connector C1 and BCM connector C2.

Inspect terminal A3 of connector C2.

Is the terminal contact OK?

Inspect for an open in CKT 690 (GRY/BLK).

Repair the open in CKT 690 (GRY/BLK).

Test for continuity at BBEC terminal F4 to courtesy lamp relay terminal 1.

Is continuity present?
