After removing the brake caliper assembly from the vehicle,
perform the following inspection procedure:
• | Inspect the inside of the caliper assembly for signs of brake
fluid leakage. If you find leakage, overhaul the caliper assembly. |
• | Inspect the dust boot for damage. If you find damage, replace
the boot. |
• | Inspect the casting for damage. If you find damage, replace the
caliper. |
• | Inspect the mounting bolts and sleeves for damage or corrosion.
Replace the damaged or corroded bolts and sleeves. Do not attempt to polish
away the corrosion. |
