02 - 03 Chevrolet and GMC Classic S/T Pickup and Utility Radio Will Not Operate in Accessory or RAP Mode - kw calibration inoperative power

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Radio will not operate in accessory or RAP (Retained Accessory Power) mode

1. Perform a radio set up using the Tech 2. This may take a couple of attempts.
2. If the radio set up was unsuccessful, do not make any other repairs to the radio at this time. Engineering is aware of this concern and is working on a fix.
3. If the radio set up was successful, but the radio is still inoperative in Accessory or RAP mode, replace the radio.
4. It may be necessary to have the reman center hand test Resistor R55 before the radio is shipped out.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
