Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1286888  Size: SH
  1. Cycle the folding top open.
  2. Stop the cycle before the folding top stowage compartment lid starts to close.
  3. Place a protective covering on the rear upper garnish molding.

  4. Object Number: 1302294  Size: SH
  5. Remove the body rear compartment lid fasteners.

  6. Object Number: 1302490  Size: SH
  7. Unlatch the body rear compartment lid latches.

  8. Object Number: 1302497  Size: SH
  9. Remove the body rear compartment lid from the vehicle.
  10. Disconnect the vehicle battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

  11. Object Number: 1302507  Size: SH
  12. Release the control module clips.

  13. Object Number: 1302510  Size: SH
  14. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  15. Object Number: 1302509  Size: SH
  16. Remove the control module from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1302509  Size: SH
  1. Install the folding top control module into the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 1302510  Size: SH
  3. Connect the electrical connectors to the control module.

  4. Object Number: 1302507  Size: SH
  5. Push down firmly on the control module to seat the folding top control module clip into the body rear compartment.

  6. Object Number: 1302497  Size: SH
  7. Install the body rear compartment lid.
  8. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1302294  Size: SH
  9. Install the body rear compartment lid fasteners.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the body rear compartment lid fasteners to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  11. Latch the body rear compartment lid latches.
  12. Remove the protective coverings from the vehicle.
  13. Connect the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  14. Important: The window cycle learn procedure must be performed or the folding top will not operate correctly.

  15. Perform the window cycle learn procedure. Refer to Power Window Reinitialization in Doors.
  16. Connect the Tech-2 and reset any diagnostic codes that may be present.
  17. Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
  18. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation .
