Did you perform the Cruise Control Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Cruise Control

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the Cruise indicator illuminate after the instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays test?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Install a scan tool.
3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
4. With the scan tool, observe the Cruise Control parameter in the IPC Input/Output data list.

Does the Cruise Control parameter display On?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Important: Program the replacement powertrain control module (PCM).

Replace the PCM. Refer to Powertrain Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 6

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 6

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Does the system operate properly?

System OK
