J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
3. Remove the straps from the heater hoses.
4. Disengage the tension on the heater outlet hose clamp (1) at the engine block (3).
5. Remove the heater outlet hose (2) from the engine block (3).
6. Squeeze the 2 tabs on the connector (1) at the heater core (3). Pull the heater hose (2) back to remove from the heater core (3).
7. Remove the heater outlet hose assembly from the vehicle.

1. Apply coolant to both ends of the heater outlet hose.

Important: When installing a new heater outlet hose, place the clamps on the hose before installing the hose to the outlet hose fitting at the engine block.

2. Install the heater outlet hose (2) to the outlet hose fitting at the engine block (3).
3. Position the heater outlet hose clamp (1) at the engine block (3) using the J 38185 .
4. Release the tension on the clamp (1).



5. Install the heater outlet hose connector (1) to the heater core (3) and push the heater outlet hose (2) in to secure.
6. Fill the engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
7. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
