5.3 LM4 Engine - Overheating - kw GMT368 cool overheat fan fuse

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Engine overheating

Inspect the 60 amp engine cooling fan fuse (ENG CLN FAN fuse #44) in the UBEC. Inspect the stud and circuit 742 for damage at the UBEC. Refer to Document ID number 1198881 for the wire schematic. If there is any damage to circuit 742, repair the circuit per the wire repair procedures in SI. If the vehicle was improperly jump started, the fuse #44 can be open. The jump start procedure can be found in the SSR owners manual.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
