Condition/Concern:

Customer concern of unwanted alarm. unwanted courtesy lights, and/or unwanted window indexing when driving. Customer may also notice door ajar indicator on with doors closed. Any of these concerns can be caused by damaged wiring in the driver or passenger door or water intrusion in either door latch assembly.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Inspect wiring going to driver and passenger door latch assemblies. This can be accomplished by rolling the window down and then looking into the door towards the rear of the door. If the wiring going to the door latch assemblies checks okay then monitor the driver door ajar switch and passenger door ajar switch inputs on Tech 2 to determine which door latch switch assembly is at fault. The inputs can be monitored by selecting Body>BCM>Data Display>and then Inputs. If the door ajar indicator comes on with the door closed, the dealer needs to unplug connector C1 at the door latch assembly and evaluate. If the indicator goes out, replace the door latch assembly.
