Location of Trailer Wire Harness - kw GMT368 body light lamp electrical connector component hitch

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

The location of trailer wire harness in the Owners manual is not specific.

The trailer wire harness is located on the inside of the left frame rail between the tubular frame crossmember just behind the rear axle and the crossmember just in front of the trailer hitch. There are two gray wire harness retainers that hold the wire harness in place. The trailer wire harness is taped to the convoluted tubing just rearward of the second wire retainer. The black electrical tape must be removed to expose the wires. The wires are blunt cut and have heat shrink insulation over the ends.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
