2003-2005 Chevrolet SSR Windshield Washer Pump Intermittently Inoperative - keywords glass washer windshield wiper

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

The windshield washer pump is inoperative, when the washer solvent is at 1/3 of a tank or less.

On vehicles built prior to VIN break 5B116842 perform the following.

1. Remove the washer pump from the washer solvent container.
2. Remove the washer pump grommet from the washer solvent container.
3. Cut the tip of the grommet off that goes into the washer solvent container.
4. Reinstall the grommet into the washer solvent container.
5. Reinstall the washer pump into the washer solvent container.
6. Fill the washer fluid container up and check for any leaks.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
