Condition
Some customers may comment that either door will not open from the inside door handle.
Cause
The hinge portion of the inside door handle may have broken.
Correction
Replace both inside door handle bezels at the time of repair following the procedure below.
- Remove the door trim panel following SI Document ID# 1347496.
- Remove the heat stakes from the door handle bezel with a 5 mm (1/4 in) drill.
- Remove the broken handle bezel from the trim panel. Remove the C-Clip from the door handle hinge pin and remove the door handle. Install the door handle to the new bezel.
- Install the new bezel to the door trim panel and install the six self-threading nuts to the bezel from the kit.
- Install the door trim panel following SI Document ID# 1347496.
