The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Engine overheating after jump start or charging the battery.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Inspect the 60 amp engine cooling fan fuse 2003 and 2004 (ENG CLN FAN fuse #44) 2005 and 2006 (ENG COOL FAN fuse #37) in the UBEC.

Inspect the positive battery cable stud and circuit 742 for damage at the UBEC. Refer to the following eSI Document ID # numbers for the wire schematic.

If there is any damage to circuit 742, repair the circuit per the wire repair procedures in eSI. If the vehicle was improperly jump started, the fuse #44 or #37 can be open. The proper jump start procedure can be found in the SSR owner's manual and bulletin 04-06-03-004A

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
