Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Observe the auxiliary gages.

Do the auxiliary gages perform the displays test?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the auxiliary gage package.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the ignition 1 voltage circuit and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Connect a test lamp between the ignition 1 voltage circuit of the auxiliary gage package and the ground circuit of the auxiliary gage package.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the auxiliary gage package. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Repair the open or a high resistance in the ground circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Repair to the following in the ignition 1 voltage circuit:

    • An open
    • A short to ground
    • A high resistance

Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the auxiliary gage package. Refer to Outside Air Temperature and Voltmeter and Torque Meter Gauge Package Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK
