DEFINITION: The content theft deterrent (CTD) system does not disarm when the vehicle is unlocked with the key.

Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the affected door latch lock parameter in the Roof and Door Module inputs list.

Does the scan tool display equal the specified value?

INACTIVE

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the affected door latch lock parameter in the Roof and Door Module inputs list.
  3. Insert the ignition key into the affected door lock cylinder.
  4. Turn and hold the door lock cylinder to the UNLOCK position.

Does the scan tool display equal the specified value?

ACTIVE

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Disconnect the door latch assembly electrical connector C2 of the affected door.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the door latch lock parameter.
  3. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the signal circuit of the door key switch and ground.

Does the scan tool display equal the specified value?

ACTIVE

Go to Step 5

  1. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the signal circuit of the door key switch and the ground circuit at the door latch assembly electrical connector.
  2. With the scan tool, observe the door latch lock parameter.

Does the scan tool display equal the specified value?

ACTIVE

Go to Step 11

  1. With a scan tool observe the door latch lock parameter.
  2. Disconnect the roof and door module connector C1.

Does the scan tool display equal the specified value?

INACTIVE

Go to Step 7

  1. Reconnect the roof and door module connector C2.
  2. Disconnect the affected door latch assembly electrical connector C2.
  3. With a scan tool observe the affected door latch lock parameter.

Does the scan tool display equal the specified value?

INACTIVE

Go to Step 11

Repair the short to ground in the signal circuit of the door key switch between the roof and door module and door latch assembly connector. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the signal circuit of the door key switch between the door latch assembly connector and the roof and door module. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the ground circuit of the door key switch between the door latch assembly connector and the roof and door module. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the affected door latch. Refer to Door Latch Replacement in Doors.

  1. Reconnect any connectors that were removed for testing.
  2. Clear any DTCs that may have been set during this procedure.
  3. Attempt to set the CTD system. Refer to Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Description and Operation .
