Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2005 🢒 SSR 🢒 Body 🢒 Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console 🢒 Front Floor Upper Console Trim Plate Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  2. Remove the gearshift knob. Refer to Floor Shift Control Knob Replacement .
  3. Remove the gearshift lever bezel. Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement .
  4. Fold the left and right seats forward.

  5. Remove the 2 upper console screws.
  6. Remove the screw retaining the console trim to the console base located by the shift bezel lever.

    7. Object Number: 1343509 Size: SH
  7. Remove the parking brake handle bezel.

    8. Object Number: 1382473 Size: SH
  8. Open the storage bin cover and remove the 2 screws.

    9. Object Number: 1174588 Size: SH
  9. Using a clean glove, grab the forward edge of the console trim and pull upward to release the retaining tabs.

    10. Object Number: 1174597 Size: SH
  10. Remove the console trim from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Turn the console lock to the LOCK position.

    2. Object Number: 1174597 Size: SH
  2. Install the console trim to the console base.

    3. Object Number: 1382472 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screw retaining the console trim to the console base by the shift bezel lever.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  4. Install the 2 upper console retaining screws.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  5. Install the 2 screws inside the storage bin area and close the lid.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  6. Install the parking brake handle bezel.
  7. Put the left and right seat backs to an upright position.
  8. Install the shift lever bezel. Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement .
  9. Install the gearshift knob. Refer to Floor Shift Control Knob Replacement .
  10. Install the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
