Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1286888  Size: SH
  1. Cycle the folding top stowage compartment lid open.
  2. Stop the cycle before the stowage compartment lid closes.
  3. Place a protective covering on all adjacent body panels to protect the painted surfaces.
  4. Remove the folding top stowage lid. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Replacement .
  5. Remove the folding top stowage lid lift cylinder from the hinges. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Hydraulic Cylinder Replacement .
  6. Important: Take care not to scratch the painted surfaces.

  7. Lay the lift cylinder in the folding top stowage area.

  8. Object Number: 1300066  Size: SH
  9. With a grease pencil or suitable marking device, mark the folding top stowage lid hinges to the body.
  10. Raise the folding top to the header for clearance.

  11. Object Number: 1300068  Size: SH
  12. Remove the folding top stowage lid hinge fasteners.

  13. Object Number: 1300067  Size: SH
  14. Remove the folding top stowage lid hinge from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1300067  Size: SH
  1. With the folding top in its raised position, install the folding top stowage lid hinge to the body.

  2. Object Number: 1300068  Size: SH
  3. Install the folding top stowage lid hinge fasteners. Hand tighten only.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Align the folding top stowage lid hinge to the alignment marks.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the folding top stowage lid hinge fasteners to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Reconnect the folding top stowage lid lift cylinder to the folding top stowage lid hinge. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Hydraulic Cylinder Replacement .
  8. Install the folding top stowage lid onto the vehicle. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Replacement .
  9. Remove the protective coverings from the vehicle.
  10. Cycle the folding top and inspect for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation .
