Removal Procedure

  1. Open the folding top.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  3. Remove the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Remove the floor console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  5. Move the passenger seat fully forward.
  6. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

  7. Object Number: 1343521  Size: SH
  8. Push the sliding latch (1) downward until fully extended, approximately 40 mm (1.6 in).

  9. Object Number: 1343522  Size: SH
  10. Remove the connector (1) from the electrical center.

  11. Object Number: 1343520  Size: SH
  12. Remove the nut (4) retaining the positive battery terminal to the electrical center.
  13. Fully loosen bolts (1, 2, 3).

  14. Object Number: 684301  Size: SH
  15. Release the 4 retaining tabs located at the top and bottom of the electrical center.
  16. Remove the electrical center from the base.

  17. Object Number: 684293  Size: SH
  18. Removal all the block connectors including (1, 2) from the electrical center base.
  19. Remove the nuts retaining the electrical center base to the console bracket studs.
  20. Remove the electrical center base from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 684293  Size: SH
  1. Install the electrical center base to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the nuts retaining the electrical center base to the console bracket studs.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  5. Install all the block connectors including  (1, 2) to the electrical center base.
  6. Ensure the connectors are fully seated.

  7. Install the electrical center to the base ensuring the 4 retaining tabs are fully seated.

  8. Object Number: 1343520  Size: SH
  9. Install the nut (4) retaining the positive battery terminal to the electrical center.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  11. Tighten bolts (1, 2, 3).
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).

  13. Install the connector (1) to the electrical center.

  15. Push the sliding latch (1) upward until fully seated, approximately 40 mm (1.6 in).
  16. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  17. Move the passenger seat fully rearward.
  18. Install the floor console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  19. Install the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  20. Close the folding top.
