Tools Required

J 37043 Park Brake Cable Release Tool

1. Release the park brake if applied.
2. Remove the park brake lever assembly. Refer to Park Brake Lever Assembly Replacement .
3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
4. Remove the rear propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement in Propeller Shaft.



5. Remove the left rear park brake cable from the front cable. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Left Side .



6. Remove the right rear park brake cable from the front cable. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Right Side .



7. Install J 37043  (1) on the front park brake cable.



8. Using the J 37043 , remove the front park brake cable from the retaining bracket.
9. Tape the equalizer in a parallel position to the brake cable.
10. Lower the vehicle.



11. Install J 37043  (1) on the front park brake cable.
12. Using the J 37043  (1), remove the front park brake cable.



13. Remove the park brake cable from the retaining bracket.



14. Remove the floor seal (1), from the floor panel.

1. Install the front brake cable in the floor panel.

Important: When installing the floor seal, ensure that it is properly seated in the floor panel to prevent leaks.




2. Install the floor seal (1).
3. Raise the vehicle.



4. Install the front park brake cable in the retaining bracket.



5. Install the right rear brake cable in the equalizer.



6. Install the left rear brake cable in the equalizer.
7. Install the rear propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement in Propeller Shaft.
8. Lower the vehicle.



9. Install the front brake cable in the retainer.



10. Install the park brake lever assembly. Refer to Park Brake Lever Assembly Replacement .
