The roof door module (RDM) monitors the folding top motor relay control output circuits from RDM at least once every 2 milliseconds. The folding top motor control relays have ignition 0 voltage supplied. As the folding top control switch is applied to either the open or close position, the RDM will apply the appropriate relay output control that will control the folding top pump motor direction for the hydraulic pump to move the roof system to the desired direction.
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC B3681 Convertible Top/Moveable Roof Pump Motor Clockwise Circuit
• | The battery voltage is between 9-16 volts. |
• | Ignition is in the Run or Accessory position or retained accessory power (RAP) is active. |
• | If the RDM detects a short to power in the folding top motor relay control circuit when requested. |
• | If the RDM detects an open or short to ground in the folding top motor relay control circuit when requested. |
• | If the RDM detects an open in the IGN 0 supply voltage circuit to the folding top motor relay when requested. |
• | Stores a current and history DTC B3681 in the RDM. |
• | The roof operation is suspended. |
• | This DTC will clear on the current status after the condition for setting the fault is corrected. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles without a fault present. |
• | History and current DTC can be cleared using the scan tool. |
If the DTC does not reset after the code is cleared, then the switch may be the intermittent fault. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.
