The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
Scan tool locks up and/or stops programming when installing a new transmission control module (TCM). The wrong module may have been installed.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Currently, some parts systems show P/N 24223112 as the replacement module in this application. This is incorrect. Replace the TCM with P/N 24226863 or any future superseded part number for this application. Steps are being taken to correct the parts catalog.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
