This PI was revised to now include a part number for the replacement plugs. Please discard PIT3913.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
When replacing an SSR instrument cluster, the replacement cluster is shipped with a different lens and bezel. There may also be a concern with light shinning through a hole in the replacement cluster behind the bezel.
Recommendation/Instructions:
It will be necessary to remove the bezel, lens and three rubber plugs from the old cluster before it is returned to the ESC. Remove the lens and bezel by unlocking the four plastic tabs. Install the three rubber plugs, SSR lens and Bezel before putting the new cluster into the vehicle. If the rubber plugs are missing, order part number 10369710
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
