The roof door module (RDM) checks the folding top outer latch position switch released signal circuit at least once every 200 milliseconds.
The folding top outer latch position switch is supplied with a constant ground source.
When the switch is active, the RDM will detect a switched ground signal on the folding top outer latch position switch released signal circuit indicating that the latch is released.
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC B1300 Convertible Top/Moveable Roof Header Latched Sensor Circuit
• | The battery voltage is between 9-16 volts. |
• | The ignition is in the Run or Accessory position or retained accessory power (RAP) is active. |
• | A request for folding top open operation has been received by the RDM, and the RDM attempts to open the folding top. |
If the RDM detects inputs from either the folding top outer latch position switch latched or folding top outer latch position switch released signal circuits out of sequence during the folding top operation.
• | Stores a current and history DTC B1300 in the RDM. |
• | Folding top operation is suspended. |
• | This DTC will clear on the current status after the condition for setting the fault is corrected. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles without a fault present. |
• | History and current DTC can be cleared using the scan tool. |
If the DTC does not reset after the code is cleared, then the switch may be the source of an intermittent fault. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.
