Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1286888 Size: SH
  1. Cycle the folding top to the open position.
  2. Place a protective covering on all adjacent body panels to protect the painted surfaces.
  3. Using a grease pencil or suitable marking device, mark the location of the stowage compartment lid latch to the body.

    4. Object Number: 1289807 Size: SH
  4. Remove the compartment lid latch fasteners.
  5. Pull upward to remove the latch from the body.
  6. Disconnect the stowage compartment lid latching cylinder. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Latch Hydraulic Cylinder Replacement .

    7. Object Number: 1289794 Size: SH
  7. Mark the stowage compartment lid release cables for reassembly. Remove the stowage compartment lid release cable from the latches.
  8. Disconnect the stowage compartment lid present sensor connector.

    9. Object Number: 1289803 Size: SH
  9. Remove the stowage compartment lid latch from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Connect the stowage compartment lid present sensor connector.

    2. Object Number: 1289794 Size: SH
  2. Using the markings, install the stowage compartment lid release cable to the latches.
  3. Install stowage compartment lid latching cylinder. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Latch Hydraulic Cylinder Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 1289803 Size: SH
  4. Install the stowage compartment lid latch into the vehicle body.

    5. Object Number: 1289807 Size: SH
  5. Install the stowage compartment lid latch fasteners. DO NOT tighten fasteners.

    6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Align the stowage compartment lid latch to the alignment marks.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the compartment lid latch fasteners to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  7. Remove the protective covering.
  8. Close the folding top stowage compartment lid.
  9. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation .
