Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1206689  Size: SH
  1. Drain the generator control module (GCM) cooling system. Refer to Generator Control Module Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the GCM coolant radiator outlet hose (1) from the GCM radiator (2). Refer to Generator Control Module Coolant Pipe Quick Connect Fitting Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 1285622  Size: SH
  4. Remove the ambient air temperature sensor (2) from the GCM coolant radiator bracket (3).

  5. Object Number: 1206686  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the GCM cooling fan.
  7. Remove the bolts (1) from the GCM coolant radiator (5).
  8. Remove the GCM coolant radiator (5) from the radiator core support (4).

  9. Object Number: 1310028  Size: SH
  10. Remove the bolts (4) from the GCM coolant fan (3).
  11. Remove the GCM coolant fan (3) from the GCM coolant radiator (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1310028  Size: SH
  1. Install the GCM coolant fan (3) to the GCM coolant radiator (2).
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the bolts (4) to the GCM coolant fan (3).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Install the GCM coolant radiator (5) to the radiator core support (4).
  6. Install the bolts (1) to the GCM coolant radiator (5).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  8. Connect the electrical connector to the GCM coolant fan.

  10. Install the ambient air temperature sensor (2) to the GCM coolant radiator bracket (3).

  11. Object Number: 1206689  Size: SH
  12. Install the GCM coolant radiator outlet hose (1) to the GCM radiator (2). Refer to Generator Control Module Coolant Pipe Quick Connect Fitting Replacement .
  13. Notice: The procedure below must be followed. Improper coolant level could result in a low or high coolant level condition, causing starter/generator control module damage.

  14. Fill the GCM cooling system. Refer to Generator Control Module Cooling System Draining and Filling .
