Sheet Metal Split Under The Right Side Of Hood - keywords appearance crack cut paint

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some owners may notice a split in the hood sheet metal in the area shown below.

To correct this concern use the following procedure:

1. Drill two 2mm holes at each end of the split.



2. Install Oatey Tube Epoxy Putty Part number 31270 or equivalent to the back side of the split through an existing hole in the hood as shown. Fill the split and the drilled holes then level/smooth the epoxy and allow to dry per instructions included with the epoxy.



3. Once the epoxy has dried, use the appropriate colored touch up paint and apply to the area as needed.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
