- Remove the primary shaft from the transmission.
- Place the primary shaft on a workbench.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the drive wheel.
- Using retainer pliers, remove the drum retainer.
- Remove the 3rd and 4th synchronizer assembly.
- Remove the 3rd and 4th synchronizer ring.
- Using a screwdriver, carefully lift the 3rd speed coupling cone.
- Remove the 3rd speed coupling cone.
- Remove the 3rd speed gear.
- Remove the 3rd speed roller cage.
- Using retainer pliers, turn the primary shaft assembly and remove the 5th speed gear retainer.
- Using a press, remove the 5th speed gear leaning it on the reverse gear.
- When removing the 5th speed gear, the taper bearings, bushing, roller cage, and reverse synchronizer assembly will also come out.
- Remove the reverse gear cage.
- Remove the reverse synchronizer ring.
- Remove the coupling cone from the reverse gear.
- Remove the 1st speed gear.
- Remove the 1st speed gear inner cone.
- Remove the 1st speed gear intermediate cone.
- Remove the 1st speed gear synchronizer ring.
- Remove the 1st speed gear roller cage.
- Using retainer pliers, remove the retainer securing the synchronizer drum.
- Remove the 1st and 2nd speed synchronizer assembly.
- Remove the 2nd speed synchronizer ring.
