Preliminary Procedures

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
3. Remove the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement.
4. Remove the wheel cylinder. Refer to Wheel Cylinder Replacement.
5. Remove the park brake cable from the brake backing plate. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Left Side or Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Right Side.
6. Remove the rear axle shaft. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement.
