1. May cause symptom related to the Adjustable pedals (JF4 except AN3)

Circuit/System Description

The adjustable pedals (when RPO AN3 Driver Memory Seat is not used) may only operate while the vehicle is in Park. When the body control module detects the vehicle is NOT in park it will enable the Park Enable PCB Relay by providing power to the relay control circuit. When the relay is enabled the electrical power feed to the adjustable pedals is eliminated. Once the vehicle is shifted into Park the BCM will disable the Park Enable PCB Relay and the electrical power feed to the adjustable pedals is enabled.

Conditions for Running the DTC

    • The system voltage is at least 9.0 V and no more than 16.0 V.
    • The DTC will only set when the output is actively being requested by the module.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

DTC will set when a malfunction is observed for more than 5 seconds.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The module output driver will be shut down and not supply voltage to the circuit.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The current DTC will go to history when a malfunction is not seen for 2 seconds.
    • The BCM clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 50 ignition cycles.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the park enable PCB relay.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the park enable signal circuit and battery positive voltage.
  3. Ignition ON, transmission in PARK, verify the test lamp does not illuminate.
  4. If the test lamp illuminates, test for a short to ground on the park enable signal circuit. If the circuit tests normal and the DTC is current, replace the BCM.
  5. If the circuit tests normal and the DTC is current, test or replace the park enable PCB relay.
