Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Support the rear axle with adjustable jack stands.

    3. Object Number: 1220931 Size: SH
  3. Remove the shock absorber bolt (2) and the washer, if equipped.
  4. Remove the shock absorber nut (1) and the washer, if equipped.
  5. Remove the shock absorber.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1220933 Size: SH
  1. Install the shock absorber.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the washer and the bolt (2) which secures the shock absorber to the rear axle.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 45-70 N·m (33-52 lb ft).

  3. Install the washer and the nut (1) which secures the shock absorber to the body bracket.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 45-70 N·m (33-52 lb ft).

  4. Remove the jack stands and lower the vehicle.
