Disassembly Procedure

    Object Number: 1223097 Size: SH
  1. Remove the distributor bolts (3).
  2. Remove the distributor cap (4).
  3. Remove the distributor seal  (2).
  4. Remove the rotor (1).
  5. Remove the distributor. Refer to Distributor Replacement .

    6. Object Number: 1223098 Size: SH
  6. Inspect the cap for cracks or damage (2).
  7. Inspect the cap electrode for damage/wear or carbon traces (3).
  8. Inspect the rotor for damage or carbon traces (1).

    9. Object Number: 1223100 Size: SH
  9. Remove the outer cover (1) from the distributor.
  10. Remove the screws (2).
  11. Remove the inner cover (3) from the distributor.

    12. Object Number: 1223101 Size: SH
  12. Remove the adaptor screw (5).
  13. Remove the adaptor (4).
  14. Remove the optical sensor cover screws (1).
  15. Remove the optical sensor cover (2).
  16. Remove the optical sensor cover gasket (3).

    17. Object Number: 1223102 Size: SH
  17. Carefully remove the disc wheel (5).
  18. Remove the optical sensor unit bushing (4).
  19. Remove the optical sensor unit screws (3).
  20. Remove the optical sensor unit plate (2).
  21. Remove the optical sensor unit (1).

    22. Object Number: 1223103 Size: SH
  22. Remove the screws (2) and bearing plate (1) from the distributor housing.

    23. Object Number: 1223104 Size: SH

    Important: Remove the shaft by using the press.

  23. Remove the coupling (1), shaft (3), and bearing (2) from the distributor housing.

Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 1223104 Size: SH

    Important: Lubricate the shaft with clean engine oil.

  1. Install the bearing (2), shaft (3), and coupling (1) to the distributor housing.

    2. Object Number: 1223103 Size: SH
  2. Install the bearing plate (1) and screws (2) to the distributor housing.

    3. Object Number: 1223102 Size: SH
  3. Install the optical sensor unit (1) and plate (2).
  4. Install the optical sensor unit screws (3) and bushing (4).
  5. Carefully install the disc wheel (5).

    6. Object Number: 1223101 Size: SH
  6. Install the optical sensor cover gasket (3).
  7. Install the optical sensor cover (2).
  8. Install the optical sensor cover screws (1).
  9. Install the adaptor (4).
  10. Install the adaptor screws (5).

    11. Object Number: 1223100 Size: SH
  11. Install the inner (3) and outer (1) cover with screws.

    12. Object Number: 1223097 Size: SH
  12. Install the rotor (1).
  13. Install the distributor seal (2).
  14. Install the distributor cap (4).
  15. Install the distributor bolts (3).
