J 21867 (09915-64510) Oil Pressure Gage or equivalent

Prior to checking the oil pressure, check the following:

    • Check the oil level and add if required.
    • Replace the discolored, deteriorated, or diluted oil.
    • Check any oil leakage and repair the defective parts.

Check the compression pressure in the following procedures:

  1. Remove the oil pressure switch (2) from the cylinder block.

  2. Object Number: 1224535  Size: SH
  3. Install J 21867  (1) to the mounting place of the oil pressure switch.
  4. Start the engine and warm up to the normal operating temperature.
  5. Raise the engine speed up to 2,000 RPM; then read the oil pressure.
  6. Specification
    At 2,000 RPM the oil pressure should read between 294.2-343.2 kPa (42.67-49.78 psi).

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. After checking, wrap the threads of the oil pressure switch with seal tape and tighten it to the specified torque.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pressure switch to 12-16 N·m (106-144 lb in).

  9. Start the engine and check oil pressure switch for oil leakage.
