Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1220673 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Pry off the lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Disconnect the rear door electrical connector (1).

  4. Remove the door hinge bolts (1).
  5. Remove the door hold open link bolt (3).
  6. Disconnect the body-to-door rubber grommet (2).
  7. Remove the rear door assembly (4).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Connect the body-to-door rubber grommet.
  2. With the aid of another technician, lightly secure the rear door with the bolts.
  3. Adjust the door for proper fit.
  4. Install the door hold open link with the bolt.
  5. Connect the rear door electrical connector.
  6. Install the lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8. Perform the waterleak test. Refer to Water Hose Test in Waterleaks.
  9. Check for windnoise. Refer to Air/Wind Noise in Air/Wind Noise.
