For 1990-2009 cars only
- Remove the shift solenoid A (1), the shift solenoid B (4), the line pressure solenoid (3) and the lock-up solenoid (2) from the lower control valve body.
- Remove the oil strainer (1) from the lower control valve body.
- Remove the bolt from the side of the lower control valve body (as indicated by arrows).
- With the upper control valve body facing upward, remove the bolt and the nut.
- Remove each body and the separator plate as a unit with the lower control valve body facing downward.
- Remove the upper control valve body and the separator plate as a unit.
- With the upper control valve body downward, remove the separator plate and the steel balls (1).
- With the upper side of the intermediate control valve body facing upward, remove it as a unit with the separator plate B.
- With the upper side of the intermediate control valve body facing downward, remove the separator plate B and the steel balls (1).
- Remove the oil filter (1) from the lower control valve body.
Important: There is a steel ball inside the body of each valve.
