This newly developed automatic transmission is a light and compact transmission for FF type small vehicles and provides smooth operation, swift driving, and improved fuel consumption. Its electronically-controlled shift point and shift oil pressure have resulted in delicate gear change control for various driving factors such as throttle position and vehicle speed. Thus, smooth driving at all speeds has been realized.

A symmetrical 3-element, single-stage, 2-phase torque converter is employed. The transmission consists of 2 single planetary gears, 3 sets of disc clutches, 1 set of disc brakes, 1 set of brand brakes, 1 set of 1-way clutches, etc.

The number of planetary gears, one-way clutches, and disc brakes is 1 set fewer than the conventional transmission, which improves efficiency.
