Inspection Procedure
- After completing all the necessary procedures on the steering gear, inspect the position of the front wheels and the steering wheel.
- With the vehicle on the floor, place the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position.
- Mark the centerline of the front tires on the floor.
- Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right.
- Mark the centerline of the front tires on the floor.
- Measure the turning angle of each tire.
- Compare the outside angle (1) measurement to the specifications.
Specifications
• | If the tire width is 145 mm, the outside angle is 31.5-35.5 degrees. |
• | If the tire width is 155 mm, the outside angle is 31.5-35.5 degrees. |
• | If the tire width is 175 mm, the outside angle is 28.5-32.5 degrees |
- Compare the inside angle (2) to the specifications.
Specifications
• | If the tire width is 145 mm, the inside angle is 37.5-41.5 degrees. |
• | If the tire width is 155 mm, the inside angle is 37.5-41.5 degrees. |
• | If the tire width is 175 mm, the inside angle is 32.9-36.9 degrees. |
