Disassembly Procedure

    Object Number: 1223154 Size: SH
  1. Remove the steering column from the vehicle. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .

    2. Caution: Impact to the steering column shaft may damage the plastic sleeve which is installed to secure the drive during an accident.

  2. Remove the retaining ring (1).
  3. Remove the washer (2).
  4. Remove the spring (3).
  5. Remove the washer (4).

    6. Object Number: 1223156 Size: SH
  6. Remove the locking of the alignment spacer (1).
  7. Strongly push the steering column shaft (2) downward.

    8. Object Number: 1223155 Size: SH
  8. Remove the steering column shaft from the steering column.

Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 1223157 Size: SH

    Important: Position the alignment spacer on the lower column shaft to install the spacer in the steering column jacket easily.

  1. Install the steering column shaft to the steering column.
  2. Position the locking of the alignment spacer on the groove of the steering column.
  3. Install the washer.
  4. Install the spring.
  5. Install the washer.
  6. Install the retaining ring.
  7. Install the steering column to the vehicle. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
