KM-507-C Ball Joint Remover

1. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .



2. Remove the cotter pin (1).
3. Remove the castellated nut (3).
4. Using the KM-507-C  (2), separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle.



5. Place a match mark (1) on the inner tie rod, the tie rod end lock nut, and the tie rod end.



6. Loosen the tie rod end lock nut (1).
7. Remove the tie rod end (2).

1. Install the tie rod end to the inner tie rod.
2. Align the match marks on the inner tie rod and the tie rod end.
3. Install the tie rod end to the knuckle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Install the castellated nut (1).

Tighten
Tighten the castellated nut to 30-55 N·m (21-41 lb ft).

5. Install the cotter pin.
6. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
7. Inspect the vehicle. Refer to Straight Ahead Diagnosis .
8. Measure the wheel alignment.
9. Adjust the front toe. Refer to Front Toe Adjustment .
10. Tighten the tie rod end lock nut (2).

Tighten
Tighten the tie rod end lock nut to 35-55 N·m (25-41 lb ft).
