Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1223152 Size: SH
  1. In order to install the intermediate shaft correctly, match-mark the intermediate shaft to the steering column (1).
  2. Remove the intermediate shaft upper pinch bolt (2).
  3. Remove the intermediate shaft lower pinch bolt (3).
  4. Remove the intermediate shaft.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1223153 Size: SH
  1. Install the intermediate shaft with the bolts.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    Important: Ensure the lower pinch bolt is positioned correctly.

  2. Install the intermediate shaft lower pinch bolt (2).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the intermediate shaft lower pinch bolt to 21-29 N·m (16-22 lb ft).

  3. Install the intermediate shaft upper pinch bolt (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the intermediate shaft upper pinch bolt to 21-29 N·m (16-22 lb ft).
