This bulletin is being issued to inform dealers of the possibility of watering entering into the rear combination lamp when it rains or after washing the vehicle. Moisture may remain afterwards in the lamp.

(2)Lens

Water may enter into the side area of the lamp through the gap between the lens and the lamp housing. This is not indicative of any problems with the lamp. Dealers should advise customers of the following facts:

    • The rear combination lamp was designed to have a gap between the lens and the housing for style and appearance purposes.
    • Water entering the lamp will not effect the proper functioning of the lamp because the water does not contact the lens.
    • Once water stops entering (when the rain stops or the vehicle leaves the car wash), the existing water droplets will disappear in several minutes.
    • There is no need to replace the lamp because of the moisture - this is a not a symptom of a defect or a quality issue.
