Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Batteries Produce Explosive Gases Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1223150 Size: SH
  1. Remove the battery cable nut to disconnect the negative battery cable (1).
  2. Remove the battery terminal cap (2).
  3. Remove the battery cable nut to disconnect the positive battery cable (3).

    4. Object Number: 1224182 Size: SH
  4. Remove the battery rod nut (1).
  5. Remove the battery rod (2).
  6. Remove the battery (3).

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Batteries Produce Explosive Gases Caution in the Preface section.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1224219 Size: SH
  1. Install the battery rod (1).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the battery rod nut to 6-8 N·m (53-71 lb in).

  2. Install the cable nuts (2).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the battery cable nut to 9-12 N·m (80-106 lb in).

  3. Connect the battery positive and negative cables.
