Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1630856 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement .
  3. Remove the defroster duct hose from the tie-bar.
  4. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column .

  5. Remove the electrical wiring harness strip.
  6. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness.
  7. Remove the defroster duct.
  8. Remove the bolts and the tie-bar.

    9. Object Number: 1630858 Size: SH
  9. Remove the bolts and the tie-bar center.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1630858 Size: SH
  1. Install the tie-bar with the bolts.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 13 N·m (115 in lb).

  2. Install the tie-bar center with the bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 13 N·m (115 in lb).

  3. Install the defroster duct to the upper air inlet grille panel.
  4. Connect the electrical wiring harness.
  5. Bind the electrical wiring harness strip.

    6. Object Number: 1630856 Size: SH
  6. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  7. Install the defroster duct hose.
  8. Install the instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement .
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
