Schematic Reference: Instrument Cluster Schematics

1. Connect a scan tool.
2. Check for engine control diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

Is the vehicle speed sensor DTC set?

Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle

Go to Step 2

1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect the engine control module (ECM) connector.
3. Remove the instrument cluster.
4. Check continuity between the ECM terminal 64 for the 0.8 L engine or terminal 40 for the  1.0 L engine and the instrument panel cluster (IPC) connector terminal 13.

Does the ohmmeter indicate the specified value?

0ohms

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

Repair the open circuit between the ECM terminal 64 for the 0.8 L engine or terminal 40 for the  1.0 L engine and the instrument panel cluster (IPC) connector terminal 13.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

--

Replace the fuel gauge.

Is the repair complete?

--
