Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1348546 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the drainage plug to drain the AT fluid.
  3. Remove the oil pan.
  4. Remove the connector from the solenoid.
  5. Remove the ATF temperature sensor (1) bolt.

    6. Important: Since AT fluid remains inside the assembly, place a drain pan under the transmission when removing the oil pan.

  6. Remove the filter (5).
  7. Remove the valve body assembly and shift solenoid.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the valve body assembly and the shift solenoid.

    2. Tighten

        • Tighten the shift solenoid bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
        • Tighten the valve body bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
  2. Install the filter (5).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the filter bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  3. Install the ATF temperature sensor (1) and bolt.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  4. Install the solenoid connector.
  5. Install the oil pan.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 13 N·m (115 lb in).

  6. Install the drain plug.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the drain plug to 44 N·m (32 lb ft).

  7. Refill the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Draining .
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
